The body found near a rapid transit station close to Confusion Corner in Winnipeg Tuesday was that of a naked woman, the Free Press has learned.

Officers responded to a 911 call from the Osborne station just before 8 a.m.

Police investigators, including forensics specialists, gathered evidence at the station throughout the day.

In a release Tuesday morning, police said the deceased adult was found by workers in the area. Police declined to provide updates on the case, including whether the death is considered suspicious.

The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1505, which represents Winnipeg Transit workers, has not provided a statement on the incident. Winnipeg Transit deferred Free Press questions to the police.
