Bisons beat Rams, improve to 5-0

Breydon Stubbs carried the ball 27 times for 121 yards and one touchdown to lead the Manitoba Bisons to a 22-13 victory over the visiting Regina Rams in Canada West university football action Saturday night.
The win pushed the Bisons to 5-0 atop the conference standings. Regina dropped to 2-3.
Bisons quarterback Jackson Tachinski went 15-for-22 for 224 yards and one touchdown. He also ran 13 yards for another major.
Two cats saved in Westwood house fire

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service rescued two cats after an “accidental” fire in Westwood early Saturday.
Crews arrived at the bungalow on the 0 to 100 block of Addison Crescent around 1:19 a.m. and saw smoke and flames coming from the house.
The fire was declared under control about an hour later at which time firefighters searched the home and rescued two cats. No other injuries were reported.
It’s believed the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction. Damage estimates are not available.
