Jets fall 5-2 to Stars in Game 3
7:01 PM
DALLAS – The Winnipeg Jets fell 5-2 on Sunday afternoon to the Dallas Stars in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series.
Dallas now leads the best-of-seven series 2-1 with Game 4 set for Tuesday night in Texas.
Kyle Connor and Nino Niederreiter scored for the visitors, who began the third period tied 2-2 only to see Dallas score three straight goals to pull away. The Jets never led, having erased deficits of 1-0 and 2-1.
Alex Petrovic’s game-winner was a controversial one, with officials spending nearly 10 minutes determining whether he kicked the puck into the net at 3:51 of the final frame. They ultimately determined that Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck batted the puck into his own net, making it a good goal.
The Jets vehemently disagreed with the ruling.
