Boy, 13, shot dead in Pimicikamak

A 13-year-old boy is dead and a 17-year-old male has been arrested after a shooting in Pimicikamak First Nation.
The homicide investigation is ongoing, and police are not searching for any more suspects, Manitoba RCMP stated in a news release Sunday.
Cross Lake RCMP were sent to a home in Pimicikamak at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, arrested the teen and seized a gun. Officers were told after they arrived that the younger boy had been taken to the nursing station. He was pronounced dead there.
Weekend fires under investigation

Three weekend fires in the downtown and Elmwood areas are under investigation.
Firefighters were sent to a high-rise building on the 100 block of Donald Street at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday. The fire was declared under control within about 15 minutes after additional crews were dispatched.
Another downtown fire happened Sunday morning. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews were sent to a commercial building on the 200 block of Garry Street at about 7:35 a.m. The fire was declared under control shortly before 9:30 a.m.
Earlier Sunday, crews were sent to a garage fire on the 300 block of Riverton Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. and arrived to find two garages on fire. The blaze was declared under control shortly before 2:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported in any of these fires, and all are under investigation. No information on the causes of the fires was released.
