STARS air ambulance confirmed it transported one person to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg following a crash on Highway 8 at Highway 67. In an email, a STARS spokesperson said they didn’t have additional information about the crash or the patient’s condition.

The collision happened at about 10 a.m. It forced the closure of the intersection until just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a notice from the provincial government.

Woman threatened with shotgun in south Winnipeg apartment complex

3:03 PM

A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly threatening a woman with a shotgun at an apartment block in Winnipeg’s Island Lakes neighbourhood.

Winnipeg Police Service patrol officers were called to the apartment on the 1500 block of Warde Avenue at about 2 a.m., where they found the woman, 24, in the building’s lobby.

She told officers she had gone to meet with a friend at a suite when an argument ensued, leading the man, who was also in the suite, to pull out the gun and threaten the woman. She wasn’t hurt.

Officers arrested a man and a woman in the suite a short time later. Investigators returned with a warrant during the day and seized a 12-gauge shotgun.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with a slew of firearms offences, one count of uttering threats and four counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a release order. The 23-year-old woman arrested was released without charges.
