Jets rally, but lose in overtime

8:58 PM

SALT LAKE CITY – There was an impressive rally to earn a point, but the Winnipeg Jets left the extra one on the table after falling in overtime to the Utah Mammoth on Sunday night at the Delta Center.

Kyle Connor and Morgan Barron scored in the third period to force the three-on-three overtime, but Clayton Keller scored his second goal of the night 13 seconds into the extra period to propel the Mammoth to victory in this Central Division battle.

Connor scored twice for the Jets, notching the 300th and 301st goals of his NHL career, becoming just the third player in 2.0 franchise history to do so.

The Jets, who slipped to 15-17-3 for the season, took one of a possible six points on this three-game road trip and are back in action on Saturday night at Canada Life Centre against the Minnesota Wild.
