Four face charges after police seize drugs, guns
1:08 PM
Four people face a slew of charges after the Winnipeg Police Service guns and gangs unit seized more than $200,000 worth of drugs as well as guns and ammunition.
A 38-year-old male suspect was stopped by police after leaving an office building on the 300 block of Nassau Street North Wednesday at around 12:30 p.m. Police searched his 2023 Ford F150 Lariat and seized 30 grams of cocaine, 2,139 grams of marijuana, 20,000 contraband cigarettes and cash.
Investigators then executed a search warrant inside the Nassau building and arrested a 39-year-old male.
Police seized 1,603 grams of cocaine, 189 grams of fentanyl, 1,542 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 10,326 grams of raw marijuana, 791 grams of marijuana resin, 56 bags of marijuana edibles and 5,000 milligrams of liquid THC. A loaded Type 54 handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition was also seized.
As a result of that investigation, a search warrant was executed on the 100 block of William Tweed Terrace in Transcona where more than 5,000 grams of marijuana was seized in addition to 4,000 contraband cigarettes and about $8,000 in cash.
A 23-year-old male and 27-year-old female, who were seen leaving the residence, were both arrested.
The estimated street value of all the seized drugs is about $218,000.
The three males face multiple drug and gun charges. The female faces several drug charges. Police did not release their names.
All were released on two undertakings.
