Three hospitalized after house fire on St. John’s Avenue

Three people have been sent to hospital after a fire at a two-storey home in the 300 block of St. John’s Avenue Thursday night.
The fire was reported at 10:16 p.m. and was declared under control by 11:01 p.m.
The home’s occupants escaped before Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service crews arrived. Paramedics treated three people at the scene, sending two of them to hospital in unstable condition, and one in critical condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Man, 35, dead after crash in RM of Stanley

RCMP are investigating a two-car collision in the rural municipality of Stanley that killed one driver and hospitalized the other Thursday.
The crash occurred at an uncontrolled four-way gravel intersection at Road 17 North and Road 19 West at around 11:30 a.m. A truck with a flat-bed trailer going eastbound hit a northbound truck carrying a garbage trailer. Both vehicles went into the northeastern ditch.
The driver of the truck with the flat-bed trailer, a 35-year-old man from Plum Coulee, died at the scene. The other driver, a 42-year-old man from the RM of Stanley, was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
