Found it quite amusing, the comments made by B.C. Lions receiver Derick Armstrong the other day. If you didn’t see them, this is what the one-time Bomber – who was dumped by then coach Mike Kelly and the organization for refusing to accept a back-up role at the start of the 2009 season – had to say about his former team and the prospect of facing them later in the season.

Hey there, time traveller!

Found it quite amusing, the comments made by B.C. Lions receiver Derick Armstrong the other day. ”I have them marked on my calendar. It’s going to be one of those things to show them they gave up too soon. I don’t think they stood up for me the way they should have. It was one of those things that happened. I’ve moved on. I’m happy I moved on. I’m with a great organization.”

I love when guys do this. “I’ve moved on.” Really? Then why am I reading how you’ve marked the game on your calendar? And who exactly is Armstrong going to show up in Bomberland? Kelly is long gone. Lyle Bauer, the head of the Bombers club at the time, is gone. John Murphy is gone. Most of the assistants are no longer here. A few of the fans have left. Even the media has seen some turnover.

It just goes to show you: Players will use anything as a motivational carrot.
