Hey there, time traveller!

It isn’t the resolution on the Buck-Pierce story so many Winnipeg Blue Bomber fans had been hoping for, but it may help point to a clearer picture on negotiations between the club and the free-agent quarterback.
While contract chats with the former B.C. Lions starter are said to be ongoing but hardly heating up, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have officially let it be known they are bowing out of the Pierce bidding — not that they were every really part of it.
Ticat GM Bob O’Billovich told Drew Edwards of The Hamilton Spectator that while his squad had a scout present at Pierce’s workout in California last week, they were primarily there to watch other University of Hawaii and pro prospects in attendance.
“We don’t have to check him out at a workout – we know what Buck’s capabilities are,” O’Billovich said. “The concern with him is going to be can he hold up physically?
“If we had a serious injury to one of the guys we were counting on, and he was available, that would be something to consider. But right now, we have no interest. We’re set at that position.”
The Ticats have Kevin Glenn, Quinton Porter, Adam Tafralis and Jason Boltus all under contract at the QB position.
The word around the CFL community is that the Pierce camp is dreaming if they think they can cash in on a contract – even if it’s incentive-laden – that would pay the 28-year-old pivot the $300,000 he earned last year in Vancouver. And with his injury risk still a concern for so many, the Bombers have apparently opted to let time bring Pierce’s contract demands down closer to their offer.
