Re: Honour at city hall for top model (July 25.)

The Free Press reported that “Mayor Sam Katz presented Canada’s Next Top Model, Meaghan Waller, the award for outstanding achievement.” Congratulations to her, but perhaps this award should have gone to Meaghan’s parents, whose genetics blessed her with her model looks.

Next election, I will vote for a mayor and council who give awards to people who care about important issues in Winnipeg — such as all the Winnipeg citizens who showed up at the July 22 council meeting to express their concerns about our city’s water utility, a fast-track land swap and a building of unprecedented structural height in Coun.Jeff Browaty’s constituency. Mayor Sam Katz needs to prioritize his time and value what really makes a difference to Winnipeg’s future.
