I am appalled by your Sept. 16 editorial cartoon. The cartoonist, from the Edmonton Journal, is certainly entitled to his opinion on Neil Young's comparison of Fort McMurray, Alta., to Hiroshima, but not to his assertion that because Young criticizes what the oilsands have done to the landscape of Alberta, he must be losing his mind because he is old.

Anyone who has ever looked at photos or documentaries on the oilsands can see that, yes, the project at Fort McMurray does indeed look like Hiroshima after an atomic bomb has gone off. Young has not lost his eyesight or his mind; he is simply stating the obvious.
