Tracking and counting kids with FASD will help curb crime, Liberal Leader Jon Gerrard said Wednesday.
Gerrard, who is the only leader to make a substantial campaign promise related to fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, said he would recreate a defunct registry that tracks kids diagnosed with FASD so they get the school and social services programs they need.
A registry like the one cancelled in the early 1990s will also help the province count the number of people with FASD, which remains a murky question.
The Liberals pledged $3.9 million for the registry and prevention programs.
