❯❯ About the ISLANDERS

The Islanders had their three-game winning streak snapped in St. Paul, Minn., Thursday night — a 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Wild. It was the first of four consecutive games on the road for New York.

Former Jets captain Andrew Ladd returns to the MTS Centre for the first time in an Islanders jersey tonight. The 31-year-old left-winger, who was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks last season and signed a seven-year, US$38.5-million deal with New York in the off-season, is off to a slow start with his new team. Playing on the club’s third line, Ladd has seven goals and 11 points in 35 games so far.

Islanders captain John Tavares is off to a relatively slow start with 10 goals and 25 points in 35 games. Tavares has been almost a point per game producer during his eight-year career.
