❯❯ About the KINGS
G Petr Budaj, who has served as the chief replacement for the injured Jonathan Quick (groin), is 19-11-3 in 34 starts with a goals-against average of 2.10 and a save percentage of .917. The 34-year-old gave up five goals on 22 shots in a 6-4 loss to the Dallas Stars Monday and was pulled midway through the third period. He rebounded to make 21 saves in a 5-1 win over the St. Louis Blues Thursday.
C Jeff Carter leads the club with 22 goals and 39 points. He also leads the Kings with seven power-play goals and seven game-winners, including two in overtime. Carter and D Drew Doughty will represent the Kings at the NHL all-star game, which will be played at the Staples Center Jan. 29.
Carter’s linemate, LW Tanner Pearson, is the only other member of the Kings with more than 10 goals (he has 13). Captain Anze Kopitar has four in 37 games while RW Marian Gaborik has two goals in 20 games.
