ABOUT THE SENS

— Ottawa was without superstar D Erik Karlsson and LW Alex Burrows (upper body) during a 5-1 loss to the Wild in Minnesota on Thursday night. Karlsson was injured blocking a shot against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, ending his ironman streak of 324 consecutive games played. C Zack Smith (upper-body injury) left Thursday’s game and did not return.

“It’s a difficult loss that they really took to us,” Sens defenceman Dion Phaneuf told reporters Thursday. “The score reflects the whole game. If you look at how we got beat, they had more than us. They did the little things right and we’ve got to regroup quick because we’ve got a big one Saturday.”
