Foketi, a 6-5, 338-pound product of Hesperia, Calif., was a member of Winnipeg’s practice squad for the entire 2017 season, after suiting for three games in 2016.

After playing college football at West Texas A&M, Foketi signed as an undrafted free agent with the NFL’s Denver Broncos in 2013.

He also spent time in camp with the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints in 2014.

Foketi is the most recent pending free agent to re-sign with the Blue Bombers.

Slotback and kicker Justin Medlock, running back Timothy Flanders, offensive linemen Jermarcus Hardrick and Pat Neufeld, safety Derek Jones and all-star offensive tackle Stanley Bryant have signed new deals since Winnipeg dropped a 39-32 decision to the Edmonton Eskimos in the CFL’s West Division semifinal.

Offensive co-ordinator Paul LaPolice has also agreed to a contract extension.
