ABOUT THE RED WINGS
— Detroit opens a three-game homestand tonight against the Jets after a 1-6-2 start with a league-worst minus-19 goals differential.
— D Mike Green could make his regular-season debut tonight. He’s been out with a virus since the start of the pre-season. F Jacob de la Rose, claimed on waivers from the Montreal Canadiens last week, has been waiting for visa clearance.
— Rookie C Michael Rasmussen has one point and is a minus-one in eight games. Once he reaches the 10-game threshold, Rasmussen’s entry-level contract kicks in. The Red Wings appear likely to keep him in the NHL this season rather than return him to the junior ranks.
