❯❯ About the Blues

The Blues have fallen far short of high expectations and fired head coach Mike Yeo earlier this week. Assistant coach Craig Berube took the reins and lost his debut in Nashville two nights later. The Blues won the rematch in St. Louis on Friday night, 6-2.

Off-season trade acquisition C Ryan O’Reilly can’t be blamed for his new team’s troubles, as he leads the Blues in scoring (10G, 13A). However, beyond him and the always dangerous RW Vladimir Tarasenko (6G, 10A), secondary offence has been a big issue for the Blues.

LW David Perron (5G, 6A), C Brayden Schenn (4G, 7A) and C Tyler Bozak (3G, 8A) sit third, fourth and fifth in team scoring but are expected to produce a lot more than they have. Right behind them is Winnipeg-born LW Alex Steen (5G, 5A).

No. 1 G Jake Allen has struggled mightly (5-6-3, 3.31 GAA, .896 SP) while backup G Chad Johnson has fared slightly better (2-4, 2.41 GAA, .916 SP).
