Valour FC announced on Thursday the signing of veteran midfielder Josip Golubar.

Golubar, 33, most recently played for NK Varaždin (Croatian Second Football League). Golubar scored three goals in 12 matches last season.

“Josip has played over 200 matches in the top division in Croatia and over 400 professional games,” Valour FC head coach and general manager Rob Gale said. “He is a key signing for us, bringing his wealth of experience to a new team and a new league, and we are delighted he has chosen to join Valour Football Club.”

Valour FC now has 12 players under contract, with Golubar becoming the third European to join the club. The Canadian Premier League’s inaugural season is set to kick off in late April.
