The Winnipeg Goldeyes are bringing a whole new meaning to the dog days of summer.

The team is hosting its annual “Bark in the Park” game at Shaw Park on Aug. 17, when the Chicago Dogs visit. Game time is 6:05 p.m.

The event, presented by the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group and Peavey Mart, is a dog-friendly baseball game, as fans are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends.

Several dog-themed promotions will take place, such as a “Seventh-Inning Fetch” and a “Paw-Paw-Razzi Photo Wall.” The first 1,000 dogs through the gates will also receive a complimentary treat bag.

Tickets can be purchased at goldeyes.com/bark.

Those attending with their dogs must download and print a “Bark in the Park” waiver and guidelines form at goldeyes.com/bark and present it at the dog registration table. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. and the gates open at 5 p.m.
