The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed defensive back Nick Taylor to a one-year contract and added defensive end Alex McCalister to their off-season roster, the CFL club announced Monday.

Taylor, 32, is a five-year CFL veteran and was a key late season addition for the club, starting four regular-season games and three games in the post-season. He recorded 12 defensive tackles and added a pick-six interception return in that span.

Taylor started 2019 in Edmonton, playing three games with the Eskimos.

McCalister, 26, attended the club’s 2019 training camp before being released. The 6-6, 240-pounder rejoined the team for an Aug. 23 game before being released again.

The University of Florida product was chosen in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent time on the Eagles practice squad in 2017.
