Hey there, time traveller!

It’s not exactly how the Winnipeg Goldeyes wanted to go into their day off. The Fish blew a 7-0 lead on Monday as the Chicago Dogs stormed back to win the game 12-9. The Dogs rattled off six runs in the bottom of the fourth before hitting three-run homers in the sixth and seventh innings. It hasn’t all be bad news for the Goldeyes lately, though. The Goldeyes, who are based out of Jackson, Tenn., for the time being as the Canada-U.S. border remains closed, finally won their first series of the season as they won back-to-back games over the Kane County Cougars on the weekend. However, the Fish remain in last place in the six-team North Division with a 5-7 record. After licking their wounds on Monday, the Goldeyes will be back on the diamond Wednesday as they play a doubleheader in Chicago. Pitching has been the main area of concern for the Winnipeg club as they’ve given up the most earned runs (74) in the American Association and have walked the second-most batters. They’re in the middle of the pack when it comes to offence with infielder Kevin Lachance being their biggest contributor. In 12 games, Lachance boasts a .356 batting average and has driven in four runs. Fellow infielder Dakota Conners has also swung the lumber well as the first-year Goldeye has a .345 average and four RBI in 10 contests.
