THE Winnipeg Jets made a big-name acquisition Tuesday that will bolster the team’s efforts off the ice, but not on.
Popular sports broadcaster Sara Orlesky has signed on with the Winnipeg Jets, ending her long run at TSN, the NHL team announced Tuesday.
Orlesky joins the Jets content team for the 2022-23 season as senior host and producer.

Sara Orlesky will still appear on TSN Jets broadcasts
She will be “producing new Jets content features,” as well as assuming “the role of co-producer and host for a new post-game show,” and will also provide pre-game hits.
The Winnipeg product spent the last 11 seasons as the host of Jets on TSN broadcasts and was a sideline reporter for CFL on TSN broadcasts since 2008.
“Very much looking forward to working with the Jets, but it will also be bittersweet to say goodbye to TSN and, of course, the CFL,” Orlesky tweeted. “Happy that I will still get to work the sidelines for a bit with my final game being the Banjo Bowl!”
Through a partnership with TSN, Orlesky will continue to make regular appearances during Jets on TSN broadcasts.
“Having covered the Jets since Day 1, I know how incredibly passionate fans are about this team,” she said, in a statement. “I’m excited to join the organization and help provide fans with new and exciting coverage of their favourite players and team.”
Orlesky has covered premier sporting events across Canada and around the world, including Stanley Cup finals, IIHF world junior championships, and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, as well as covering the sidelines for the last 13 Grey Cup broadcasts.
“Sara has been a fan-favourite in sports broadcasting and we are thrilled to add her talents to the Jets content team,” said Kelly Shouldice, vice-president, content and communications for True North Sports & Entertainment. “In this role, Sara will spearhead new in-depth, multi-platform Jets content, bringing fans closer to the team, players and coaches.”
