The Winnipeg Jets have welcomed a new addition to their hockey family.
An ECHL partnership with the Norfolk Admirals will give the organization another option to which it can send its young, developing prospects. The ECHL is one step below the American Hockey League, where the Manitoba Moose reside.
Players signed to AHL-only contracts could also be sent down to the Admirals from the Moose.

The Winnipeg Jets have welcomed a new addition to their hockey family. An ECHL partnership with the Norfolk Admirals (right) will give the organization another option to which it can send its young, developing prospects.
Winnipeg hasn’t had a formal ECHL affiliation for the past two years, instead loaning players to various teams around that league when necessary. Ten skaters appeared in games for the Moose and in the ECHL last season.
Current Jets forward Jansen Harkins spent time in the ECHL during the 2017-18 season as he navigated some early challenges during his development.
Norfolk, which was previously affiliated with the Carolina Hurricanes, struggled to a 21-46-5 record in 2022-23, their seventh season in the ECHL after previously being in the AHL.
