Hey there, time traveller!

The Red River Co-op Speedway will be changing hands in the near future.

Walt Morris, president of Winnipeg Dodge Chrysler Jeep, is in the process of making a deal with Derrick Weiss, who has owned the speedway since 2000.

Morris is also a driver who has raced at the dirt track for the past several seasons.

Overland flood water covered the track on April 19 and left it under water for several weeks, delaying the start of the 2009 racing season. Opening day for local stock car racing is now set for Thursday.
