ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers placed right-handed relievers Cole Winn and Peyton Gray on the 15-day injured list Monday before hosting the Athletics.
Winn (5-3, 5.63 ERA) has a rotator cuff strain, and he was put on the IL retroactive to last Friday. He has made 53 appearances this season. He allowed two runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings last time out against the Chicago White Sox last Tuesday.
Gray (6-0, 3.93) has elbow inflammation, and he was put on the IL retroactive to Sunday. He gave up two runs in one inning at Milwaukee last Saturday. He has pitched in 48 games.
The Rangers recalled left-handed reliever Robby Ahlstrom and right-handed reliever Ben Peoples from Triple-A Round Rock.
Ahlstrom (3-1, 6.03) most recently appeared for Texas last Wednesday at Chicago, when he allowed five runs in one inning.
Peoples (0-1, 2.51) has appeared in 14 games, pitching 14 1/3 innings for the Rangers since being traded to Texas by the White Sox on June 30.
