TEAMS that are hoping to secure one of the five final berths in the Safeway provincial championship Feb. 10-14 in Steinbach through the MCA Bonspiel include:
Vic Peters of Fort Garry and Steve Pauls of Manitou: Both teams met each other in the opening draw with Peters coming out on top 7-3.
Sam Antila of Thompson: Lost 7-6 to Randy Neufeld of LaSalle, who already has a berth.
Mike Mahon of Deer Lodge: Lost 7-6 to Derek Samagalski of West St. Paul. Samagalski, who is Reid Carruthers’ second, already has a berth.
Peter Nicholls of Deer Lodge: Played David McLean of Assiniboine-Memorial in the opening round, and won 6-3.
Dave Hamblin of Morris: Was playing Sieg Wall of Heather in the 9 p.m., draw.
Brent Strachan of Hamiota: Played Michael Coutts of Deer Lodge, in the 9 p.m., draw.
Ian Beavis of Fort Rouge: Drew a bye in the first round.
