EDMONTON ESKIMOS (6-6) at WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS (4-8)

When: Friday, 6:30 p.m. TV: TSN (local blackout is in effect); Radio: CJOB.

Streaks: Edm.: 1L; Wpg.: 1W.

Vegas line: The Eskimos are favoured by 5.5 points.

The storyline: The developing subplot to this contest is all the injuries the Eskimos have suffered on defence and how that will affect a unit that is already ranked last statistically in a handful of key categories, including points against (30.8). The Bombers, meanwhile, will try to win back-to-back games for the first time this season to keep their playoff hopes alive.

SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS (7-5) at B.C. LIONS (5-7)

When: Friday, 9:30 p.m. TV: TSN.

Streaks: Sask.: 1W; B.C.: 1L.

Vegas line: The Lions are favoured by 1 point.

The storyline: The Riders want to keep their share of first in the West with a win in Vancouver, a spot where they’ve had a surprising amount of success — 6-4 in their last 10 — over the last few years. The Lions are now officially looking over their shoulder at the Bombers as they try to at least lock up a crossover playoff spot. The concern is whether Buck Pierce can continue to take a beating while fans wonder when, or if, Casey Printers can get his game back to help this bunch down the stretch.

MONTREAL ALOUETTES (10-2) at TORONTO ARGONAUTS (3-9)

When: Saturday, noon. TV: TSN/RDS.

Streaks: Mtl.: 3W; Tor.: 2L.

Vegas line: The Alouettes are favoured by 10 points.

The storyline: Big-time concern in the Alouettes’ camp that they’ll get fat and sassy waiting for the East final. And with good reason: Of their final six games, five are against teams currently with losing records. What they’re chasing now is a franchise-record 15-win season. The Argos, meanwhile, are on life support after their loss here last weekend.

HAMILTON TIGER-CATS (6-6) at CALGARY STAMPEDERS (7-5)

When: Saturday, 6 p.m. TV: TSN.

Streaks: Ham.: 1L ; Cal.: 1W.

Vegas line: The Stampeders are favoured by 7.5 points.

The storyline: The defending champs have been up and down all season, but do welcome back a key Canadian starter in D-lineman Mike Labinjo this week. The Stamps will be trying to avenge a loss in Hamilton a couple weeks back in which they surrendered 14 points in a fourth-quarter collapse. The Ticats will start Quinton Porter at QB but head coach Marcel Bellefeuille might be quicker with the hook and go to veteran Kevin Glenn if the attack stalls.
