TORONTO – Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros, Toronto receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. and Blue Bombers defensive lineman Willie Jefferson have been named the CFL’s top performers for Week 14.
Collaros threw for 272 yards and four touchdown passes with an 84-per-cent completion rate as the league-leading Blue Bombers improved to 12-1 with a 54-20 rout of the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday.
The reigning CFL outstanding player earned a top performer nod for the third time this season after also being honoured in Weeks 5 and 8.
Collaros leads the CFL with 26 TD passes this season.
Gittens had eight receptions for a career-high 161 yards and a touchdown Saturday as the Argonauts won their third game in a row, 24-19 at Ottawa.
Gittens, who was also named a top performer in Week 7, leads the East Division-leading Argos (7-5) with 759 receiving yards and 57 receptions.
Jefferson had three tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in Winnipeg’s victory. The forced fumble led to a Bombers touchdown.
This season, Jefferson has 25 tackles, one interception, seven sacks and nine pass knockdowns for the two-time defending Grey Cup champions.
