GAME BALLS:

OFFENCE

Montreal’s Anthony Calvillo threw for four touchdowns and after getting his team an early lead, made sure it stood up. Give the Als offensive line credit as they held the Bombers front seven out of the game. The Bombers were awful.

DEFENCE

For the second week in a row the Winnipeg group looked very ordinary. They got pushed around at the line of scrimmage and when the Als had a chance to score the Bombers were soft in their red-zone defence.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Winnipeg punter Mike Renaud is becoming a fan favourite. His scamper on third down after a bad snap in the first quarter earned the club a first down. Alexis Serna was also steady, going 4-for-5.

CRITICAL NUMBERS:

2-5

There are all kinds of numbers that stick out, two interceptions, two fumbles on kick returns and four turnovers in total but for us the record of 2-5 is the one that stands out the most. There’s been lots of talk about improvement and staying the course but at some point the record has to be taken into account and for us that’s now.

FAN-O-METER:

The rain prior to game time and the lack of a TV blackout kept some fans at home but those in attendance were loud and positive early on but deteriorated into an ugly mass of booing malcontents. Early in the fourth quarter one fan bellowed, "call the 50-50 number so we can leave."
