Hey there, time traveller!

THE Winnipeg Blue Bombers are zeroing in on a new defensive boss after whiffing on their first two attempts to land help.
Spurned by Richie Hall and Corey Chamblin — Hall will land in Saskatchewan; Chamblin joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats — speculation was running rampant through the CFL community Saturday that the Bombers have signed Montreal Alouettes assistant coach Tim Burke to be their new defensive co-ordinator.
Burke confirmed through a source that the Bombers have expressed interest in him and the club is said to be also dangling the title of assistant head coach in order to lure him away from the Als.
There had been some debate as to whether the Alouettes had actually given the Bombers permission to speak to Burke as they had apparently had closed the window that allows their assistants to talk to other teams. But the Bombers are pressing to land the services of a man who interviewed for the head-coaching job here last winter before GM Joe Mack settled on Paul LaPolice.
Burke, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, just completed his third season with the Als and sixth in the CFL after serving as Calgary’s defensive backs coach from 2005-07.
Meanwhile, the Bombers are expecting a decision from defensive line coach Richard Harris today or Monday regarding an offer from the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Harris had apparently been disappointed that he had not been interviewed for the defensive co-ordinator job with the Bombers and is currently the team’s longest-serving assistant.
