Camped out

Tuesday marked the end of training camp workouts. Bombers coach Paul LaPolice on the close of the 17-day experience: “You always wish you had more time for guys to get work, but at the same time it’s always good to get closer and closer to your roster and getting the team set. (Thursday) will be a big game for a lot of the guys.”

Go blitz go

Is there a ‘no blitzing’ agreement during the pre-season games, to ensure quarterbacks remain healthy? LaPolice says no way: “Sometimes special teams coaches will call each other and say ‘Hey, don’t do any blocks, we’re trying to evaluate returners.’ I’ve never heard a gentlemen’s agreement (on no blitzing).”
