HE was one of the Atlanta Falcons’ final cuts this year and got a serious look from the Miami Dolphins.

But don’t expect Adam Froman to provide any immediate relief to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ injury woes at quarterback.

“It’s going to be a pretty steep learning curve because not only do I need to learn the offence and the plays and all that, I’ve also got to learn the (CFL) rules,” Froman said Tuesday after the Bombers announced they added the 6-foot-4, 220-pound University of Louisville product to the practice roster.

Froman, 23, played in one pre-season game with the Falcons this year, going 6-13 for 45 yards and one interception. He’s considered unusually agile for such a big man and Bombers head coach Paul LaPolice said he was impressed with his arm — on tape and at practice at Canad Inns Stadium Tuesday.

“He’s a big kid who can move well and I liked seeing him throw the football,” LaPolice said.

Froman was one of seven players the Bombers added to their practice roster Tuesday as the CFL expanded its practice rosters after the NFL cuts.

Also added Tuesday were: import receiver Kurt Adams, who holds the record for receiving yards at Harding University, set in 2008; import defensive end Quentin Davie, who attended Detroit Lions training camp this summer after a four-year career at Northwestern; import running back Bloi-Dei Dorzon, who had a tryout with the Tennessee Titans this summer; import linebacker Javon McKinnon, a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference all-star out of Arkansas State; import defensive back Darrell Pasco, a Georgia Southern standout who played a pre-season game in 2010 with Tampa Bay before injuring his shoulder; and non-import running back Nick Fitzgibbon, the all-time leading rusher with the OUAA’s Guelph Gryphons.

JOVON Johnson honoured his brother and then the CFL honoured him.

The Bombers defensive back recorded two interceptions — and ran one back for a touchdown — last Saturday in Toronto against the Argonauts on what was the third anniversary of the shooting death of his 15-year-old brother, Daquan Crosby, in Erie, Pa.

“It was one of those things that was on my mind the whole week and I just tried to go out and be as positive as I could and try to make plays and know that he was watching down on me,” Johnson said Tuesday after the league named him the CFL defensive player of the week for his performance against the Argos.
