GAME BALLS
Offence
Bombers receiver Terrence Edwards had six catches for 110 yards — 85 of those coming in the first half. Edwards now has 1,016 yards to crack the 1,000-yard plateau for the second straight season.
Defence
Many contenders, but give it to Bombers defensive linemen Fernand Kashama and Jason Vega. They had two sacks apiece and were part of the Winnipeg front seven that terrorized Montreal quarterback Anthony Calvillo.
Special Teams
Sorry Sean Whyte, but Winnipeg’s Michel-Pierre Pontbriand gets it for choosing the right angle and making the huge block that sprung Jovon Johnson’s 51-yard punt return in the fourth quarter.
FAN-O-METER
Chris Garrett’s backwards dive into the end zone with 48 seconds left in on the clock ignited the 30,360 at Canad Inns Stadium. He had two touchdowns Saturday, plus his 32-yard run to open the final quarter brought some life to a dormant Winnipeg offence.
BY THE NUMBERS
19
Points off the foot of Montreal kicker Sean Whyte. He was a perfect 6-for-6 in the field goal department and added a convert Saturday afternoon.
3, 6
The number of interceptions thrown by Calvillo (he had five coming into the game) and the number of sacks registered by the Winnipeg defence.
2
Points off the leg of Jamie Boreham Saturday. Replacing Mike Renaud, the veteran had two punt singles and a 42.7 yard punting average.
102
The yards earned by Alouettes receiver Jamel Richardson. It marks his 11th 100-yard game this season, tying a CFL record held by four other players.
