MEET JAMEZE MASSEY… MR. EXCITEMENT:

“I hope to do that (he returned a missed field goal 91 yards) every week. That’s what I do… Mr. Excitement.

“I hope I did enough (to impress the coaches). I’m going to try and do some more next week but I hope today was good enough. I have some corrections to work on and I’m going to try and take one back next week.”

MASSEY ON THE MISSED FG RETURN:

“Coach gave me the opportunity to bring it out or kneel it. It was pretty deep and I was kind of hesitant, but then one of my homeboys, (Desia) Dunn gave me a signal that he had a block to the outside and I just ran out there, he sealed the sideline and I just started running.”

CORY WATSON ON THE OFFENCE

“We had some young guys step up. Massey had a good return and so did (Trevor) Kennedy. It’s good to see that, because we need guys who can step in and help us.

SON OF A LEGEND… BRETT CAMERON, PUNTER, FIELD GOAL KICKER:

“They told me three hours before the game that in the third quarter I’d be able to kick and punt, It was pretty cool to place-kick again because it’s been a few years. My first punt, I had one punt, and I think I rushed it a little bit. Hopefully I’ll be more prepared when the opportunity comes next time.”

DE KENNY MAINOR ON WHAT WAS A DECIDEDLY UNEVEN EFFORT BY THE BOMBERS DEFENCE:

“I could’ve been better. We all could have been. It’s like coach Burke said, we just have to do a better job of translating what we did in practice. It felt like we didn’t know what we were doing the entire time. But we got better in the second half, I will say that.”

BOMBERS VETERAN PUNTER MIKE RENAUD ON HIS FIRST-HALF PERFORMANCE:

“I felt like I got the kinks out. I’d like to have a few balls back that I could have hit cleaner. But I got some good bounces and it’s like the saying goes, you have to be good to be lucky.”

RENAUD ON HIS CLUB’S OVERALL EFFORT:

“Overall, it was just getting the kinks out and getting back up to game-speed.”

KENNY MAINOR:

“Man, I hate losing. It always matters. I know they say pre-season doesn’t matter, but it does. It always matters.”

CAMERON ON HIS 37-YARD FIELD GOAL IN THE THIRD QUARTER:

“Yeah, that was pretty cool to be able to kick again. It’s been a few years since I had the opportunity.”

HEAD COACH TIM BURKE ON HIS DEFENCE:

“I think we could have played a little better and shown more than we did.”

“I would have liked to have seen a better pass rush and I would have liked to have seen better coverage, especially in the first half.”

BURKE ON HIS DECISION TO LIFT BUCK PIERCE AFTER JUST THREE OFFENSIVE SERIES:

“I think he got hit three times and that was enough for me.”

BOMBER QB BUCK PIERCE:

“We’ve got work to do. We didn’t have everybody in there and we didn’t have all the offence in there. But that’s what these games are for. I got the first hit out of the way. That’s good.”

WINNIPEG O-LINEMAN CHRIS GREAVES:

“It was good to be out there and play against different bodies that we don’t see every day in practice. We have to finish drives and score touchdowns but our goal is always to get better.”
