ñº OFFENCE

Terrence Edwards likely won’t consider this a night to remember, but he was the best of an anemic bunch on offence, catching five balls for 66 yards. It’s getting hard to watch Edwards take a beating in a losing cause week after week. This guy is a loyal soldier and extremely talented. He doesn’t deserve this.

ñº DEFENCE

They got pushed around in the first half but stiffened in the second. Once again, however, they were left to melt in the mid-day sun with no offence to provide rest or sustenance. Give the game ball to Zach Anderson, who finished with five tackles and one sack.

ñº SPECIAL TEAMS

If the Bombers are going to win any more games this season, they’ll need big plays from their special teams. Like the one they got from Demond Washington in the first quarter when he returned a punt for a touchdown. Sure, it got yanked off the board due to a phantom holding call, but Washington’s effort was brilliant. If that TD stands, the Bombers might have been able to write a different story. Instead it was same old, same old.

FAN-O-METER:

There was early silence when Washington returned a punt 76 yards for a Winnipeg touchdown after Edmonton’s first failed drive, but it quickly turned to glee when a holding penalty brought it back. And instead of being down 7-0, Edmonton followed with a quick 17 points to cheer up the home fans.
