Max Hall was nowhere to be seen in the Bomber locker-room after Saturday’s loss as, apparently, he was being tended to by the team doctor. Actually, it might have taken a team of doctors to tend to all the bumps and bruises, aches and pains the QB likely sports today. No, he doesn’t have a gun like Dieter Brock, but he will stand in the pocket and take a shot. That’s got to count for something.

Hall’s numbers — 30 for 50 for 385 yards with one TD and one pick — represent a season high through the air. He hasn’t convinced anyone he is the long-term QB answer, but he is winning over many as a guy to keep around for 2014.

ñº DEFENCE

The Bombers held the Argos to just 256 yards total offence — a shocking number given the Boatmen’s offensive arsenal. And, at the centre of a solid defensive effort — again — was linebacker Henoc Muamba, who finished with five tackles and a knockdown. He got plenty of help as the Bombers effectively limited Ricky Ray’s deep-strike capability and held the Argos to just 20 yards along the ground.

ñº SPECIAL TEAMS

Hey, in a game in which critical points were kept off the board because a ball slipped off the tee on a short field-goal attempt, it’s difficult to be singling any one out for glory. But Sandro DeAngelis did pull off a tricky short kick that led to a field goal that pulled the Bombers to within three at 23-20.

“The one in Hamilton (a few weeks ago), that was just a crazy little Italian guy freelancing,” said DeAngelis. “This one, I was given the option to call it off if I didn’t like it. But we liked it and we’re fortunate it worked out.”

Hall wasn’t the only player who pulled up lame, although he did finish the game. DB Jeremy McGee (hamstring) did not finish while WR Akeem Foster and SB Terrence Edwards were both dinged.
