It’s got everything you’d want in a tailgate party except the tailgate.

“It’s more like a beer garden,” said Doug Cathro, stating the obvious as he kicked back and sipped a cold one in the late afternoon breeze before going inside to watch his Blue Bombers.

“It is nice,” Cathro emphasized.

You may not be able to pull up your vehicle at the Blue Bombers’ new tailgate area at the southeast corner outside Investors Group Field, but you can take a seat, buy some food, listen to music, maybe even purchase an alcoholic beverage.

Kids can jump around on one of those big bouncy things, toss a football through targets, get their faces painted, or receive a twisty animal-shaped balloon.

“I think it’s great,” declared Adriana Zibrowski, who was attending her first Bombers game.
