OFFENCE

Ottawa RB Jonathan Williams racked up 229 yards total offence in his first CFL start and just his second overall game. The Redblacks have started a different tailback in four consecutive games, but Williams could stick for awhile.

DEFENCE

Jerrell Gavins led the Redblacks with eight tackles and picked off a pass as part of a dominant performance by the Ottawa defence.

SPECIAL TEAMS

One of the few bright spots for the Bombers was Moe Leggett’s 114-yard return for a TD on a missed field goal.

Ottawa eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the fourth time this season and the 134 they had along the ground by the intermission was a franchise high.

WHY THE RISK?

The Bombers opted to leave Drew Willy in for the entire game, despite the pounding he took. Asked afterward why he didn’t yank his starter — who has been nursing a bum shoulder — O’Shea said;

“I don’t think of it like that. Maybe it’s just because I’m new at this, I don’t know, but I’m not wired to pull guys out. I’m really not. I’ll have to inspect that and I’ll have to talk about it more with (offensive coordinator) Marcel (Bellefeuille) and other people. I just don’t see it that way.”
