20 Number of years since the Bombers trailed by 37 points at halftime. They also trailed the Baltimore Stallions 37-0 at halftime on Oct. 29, 1994, the only other game Winnipeg has been behind that much at halftime. Winnipeg went on to lose 57-10 to the Stallions that day.

With Monday’s loss to the Eskimos, Winnipeg’s winless streak in Edmonton will head into a ninth year in 2015.

The Bombers last won at Commonwealth Stadium in 2006 and are 1-10-1 in their last 12 trips to the Alberta capital.

The Bombers are now 1-21-1 in their last 23 trips to Alberta and must still travel to Calgary, where they will wrap up their regular season on Nov. 1.

With Monday’s loss, the Bombers have dropped six in a row and are deep into the continuation of a disturbing longer-term trend that has seen the franchise struggle mightily in the second half of seasons, when playoff spots are generally won and lost.

The Bombers are now 11-31 in the second half of seasons over the last five years. In the first half of those same five seasons, the Bombers were 18-27.

OFFENCE

Edmonton Eskimos QB Mike Reilly improved to 4-0 as a starter against the Bombers, going 19-for-31 for 197 yards, while rushing for 26 yards and two touchdowns.

DEFENCE

Remember when the Bombers dumped DE Odell Willis because the coaches felt he “can’t play against the run?” Willis’s two sacks brought his season total to a career-high 13 and his two forced fumbles basically changed the game.

SPECIAL TEAMS

There wasn’t much to like on this day for the Bombers, but kicker/punter Lirim Hajrullahu had nothing to hang his head about. Hajrullahu was 3-for-3 on field goals, including a 43-yarder.
