THE Winnipeg Blue Bombers inked four more players Thursday, adding a former NFL defensive back, two 2015 CFL draft picks and an import receiver.

Among the most intriguing new additions is Curtis Taylor, 29, who played in 13 NFL games, making six tackles, before he was released last August by the Arizona Cardinals. The 6-2, 210-pound defensive back was a seventh-round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2009, and also spent time with the Oakland Raiders.

Before he was drafted, Taylor started 22 of his 50 games at LSU and finished his college career with 112 tackles, five picks and two sacks. In 2008, he won a BCS national championship with LSU, a season in which he started all but one of the 14 games he played.

Meanwhile, the Bombers also signed two of their 2015 draft picks, fullback Chris Normand and defensive lineman Ettore Lattanzio.

Norman, 23, was selected 33rd overall in the draft, coming off his fourth year at Laval. In 2014, the 6-2, 230-pound fullback played in four regular-season games, and rushed 11 times for 65 yards in that span. He also competed in the CIS East-West Bowl.

Lattanzio, 24, put in four seasons with his hometown Ottawa Gee Gees, and played all eight regular-season games for them last year.

During that all-star campaign he notched 29 defensive tackles, eight sacks (the third-highest tally in the CIS), 14 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Finally, the Bombers also announced they’ve signed import receiver Justin Veltung, who attended mini-camp with them in April. The 5-11, 185-pound receiver was a top return specialist at the University of Idaho, and left that program as its all-time kickoff return leader (80) and kickoff return yardage leader (1,743).

Combined with his 62 receptions for 901 yards and eight majors and other efforts, he ranks 11th on Idaho’s all-time all-purpose yardage list. After his college career, Veltung spent some time with NFL teams in St. Louis and Seattle.
