WINNIPEG Blue Bombers CEO Wade Miller says ticket sales for November’s Grey Cup at Investors Group Field are on target and some Grey Cup festival events are already sold out.

“We’re trending really positively right now and it’s going in the right direction,” Miller said Monday of Grey Cup ticket sales.

“And there’s festival events — are you ready for this — that are already sold out. There’s two events — the Bombers breakfast and the CFL alumni luncheon — that are sold out already. So yeah, it’s going well.”

Miller said he continues to believe the game will also sell out. “I think it will take time and it will take into September, but we’re moving in the right direction.”

Miller was asked how much easier the task of selling out this year’s championship game would be if his team, which is tied for first place in the West Division with the Calgary Stampeders at 2-1, is still a playoff contender in late October.

“We want to win at home for our fans,” said Miller. “That’s what they deserve and that’s what we’re working towards.”
