The Winnipeg Blue Bombers continued to build its roster for next season on Friday, signing defensive back Jamal Parker to a one-year deal.
Parker, who was scheduled to become a free agent on Feb. 11, returns for a fourth season with the Blue and Gold after missing last year with a knee injury.
The versatile defensive back, who has also filled in at returner, signed with Winnipeg in 2022 and went on to dress for 13 games as a rookie, including both playoff contests.
In 2023, he played in eight games, starting at corner for the final five games of the season, including the West Final and Grey Cup.
Parker was expected to challenge for a starting role last season but fell out of the running after going down in training camp.
The Bombers have 23 pending free agents remaining in-house.
