Teams: United States against an International team of players from everywhere but Europe.

Dates: Thursday-Sunday.

Venue: Medinah Country Club (No. 3).

Par: 70.

Points needed to win: 15 1/2.

Captains: Geoff Ogilvy (International) and Brandt Snedeker (U.S.).

Defending champion: United States.

Series: United States leads, 13-1-1.

Format: Nine matches of foursomes, nine matches of fourballs, 12 singles matches. Each is worth one point.

Last time: The Americans swept the opening session and the Internationals swept the next one in a wild start. The Americans won both Saturday sessions 3-1 to build a four-point lead and pulled away from an 18 1/2-11 1/2 victory, their largest margin away from home. Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa each produced four points to the lead the U.S. team.

International team: Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Ryan Fox, Ryo Hisatsune, Sungjae Im, Tom Kim, Si Woo Kim, Min Woo Lee, Hideki Matsuyama, Adam Scott, Nick Taylor.

The course: Medinah No. 3 has gone through an extensive renovation by Australia-based OCM, the design company led by Geoff Ogilvy.

Tale of the tape: Three Americans are outside the top 25, the first time since 2017 the U.S. team has not had every player among the top 25. The Internationals have only three players who have won on the PGA Tour this year.

Key statistic: The Americans have won the opening session eight of the last nine times in the Presidents Cup.
