BRANTFORD – Kashawn Aitcheson scored the game-winning goal 30 seconds into overtime to lift the Barrie Colts to a 5-4 win over the Brantford Bulldogs on Wednesday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Emil Hemming, with two goals, Evan Passmore and William Schneid also scored for Barrie (5-7-0-3), which got 46 saves from Ben Hrebik.

Adam Benak, Caleb Malhotra, Marek Vanacker and Adam Jiricek replied for Brantford (11-0-2-1). David Egorov stopped 25 shots.

Down 4-1 early in the third period, the Bulldogs stormed back with three goals in just over three minutes. Malhotra, Vanacker and Jiricek combined for three unanswered goals to send the game to overtime.

67’S 3 STEELHEADS 2 (OT)

OTTAWA — Nic Whitehead scored the game-winning goal on a penalty shot 4:25 into overtime as the Ottawa 67’s prevailed 3-2 over the Brampton Steelheads.

Ondrej Ruml and Filip Ekberg added the others in regulation for Ottawa (8-5-1).

Troy Patton had the opening goal for Brampton (6-7-1), while Gabriel Chiarot scored the tying goal with 34 seconds left in regulation. But a Zach Nyman penalty for a foul from behind proved costly in OT.

ATTACK 7 STING 3

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Tristan Delisle netted a hat trick, including two power-play goals, as the Owen Sound Attack cruised past the Sarnia Sting 7-3.

Nicholas Sykora, with two goals, Michael Dec and Jake Crawford provided the rest of the offence as Owen Sound (10-5-0-1) took a 7-0 edge into the third period.

Beckham Edwards, Ryan Brown and Ben Pickell replied for Sarnia (4-7-2). 

GREYHOUNDS 8 WOLVES 2

SUDBURY, Ont. — Jordan Charron, Marco Mignosa and Brady Smith each scored two goals as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds thumped the Sudbury Wolves 8-2.

Jeremy Martin and Quinn McKenzie added the others for Sault Ste. Marie (9-6-1), which outshot the Wolves 43-27.

Kieron Walton scored both Sudbury (4-9-1) goals in the loss.
