SYDNEY – Jacob Beaulieu had two goals and an assist as the Saint John Sea Dogs used a three-goal third period to earn a 6-4 win over the Cape Breton Eagles on Thursday in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.

Angelo Fullerton, Cameron Chartrand, Elliot Dubé and Dylan Rozzi also scored for Saint John (7-6-1). 

Starter Rafael Courchesne stopped three of the five shots he faced in the first 6:16 of the game. Justin Robinson turned away 23 of 25 shots the rest of the way in the win.

Adam Klaus, with two goals, Rory Pilling and Jacob De Ladurantaye replied for Cape Breton (4-7-1-3), which lost its fifth straight. Felix Hamel made 27 saves.

Down 3-2 after the first period and tied 3-3 after two, the Sea Dogs got goals from Beaulieu and Rozzi to take their first lead of the game halfway through the third period. After De Ladurantaye made it a one-goal game at 13:01, Beaulieu scored an empty-netter with 1:15 left to seal it.

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Florent Houle scored twice as the Sherbrooke Phoenix used a four-goal first period to fuel a 6-2 win over the Charlottetown Islanders.

Mavrick Lachance, Cameron Haye, Jayden Plouffe and Martins Klaucans provided the rest of the offence for Sherbrooke (8-4-1), which held a 4-1 edge after 20 minutes.

Tyler Peddle and Ross Campbell replied for Charlottetown (11-3-1-2).
