DAWSON CREEK – Canada will face an old rival for gold at the Para Cup.
Dominic Cozzolino scored twice and added three assists as the hosts topped Czechia 7-0 on Friday to make the hockey tournament’s title match.
The United States, which bested its neighbour to the north 3-2 in round-robin action, thumped China 13-2 in the other semifinal at the four-team event. The championship game goes Saturday.
James Dunn added two goals and two assists for Canada against the Czechs. Corbin Watson made 12 saves to register the shutout.
Patrik Sedlacek finished with 31 stops in taking the loss. Czechia will face China for bronze.
Cozzolino and Dunn scored in the first period and each added another goal in the second for a 5-0 lead through 40 minutes as Adam Dixon also found the back of the net. Tyler McGregor and Vincent Boily rounded out the scoring in the third.
