THE Winnipeg Jets will soon take flight. Here’s a look at what fans can expect in terms of team leaders in various departments:
Hardest shot: Dustin Byfuglien. At the All-Star Game SuperSkills competition, he posted shots that clocked 101.3 and 102.4 m.p.h.
Fastest skater: Zach Bogosian won most Thrashers speed competitions.
Best hitter: Mark Stuart is the most dangerous hitter and Bogosian is a close second.
Best passer: Tobias Enstrom can find the open man and hit him consistently and has a real knack for this on the power play.
— Most accurate shot: Andrew Ladd rarely misses the open spot when given a chance.
Best checker: Ron Hainsey uses his experience and hockey sense to get his body on players and angle them off the puck.
Best shootout scorer: Bryan Little is the best bet to convert on the shootout.
Best cornerman: Tobias Enstrom. Not very big, but when he goes into the corner he usually comes out with the puck.
Best glove hand: Ondrej Pavelec makes most of his spectacular saves with his glove.
