About the Jets: The Jets are 1-1 on this seven-game road trip. They provided a solid defensive effort Saturday night but fell 1-0 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Panthers trail the franchise series 26-28-5-9. Winnipeg’s Alexander Burmistrov saw his six-game scoring streak come to an end on Saturday and was benched for a few shifts early in the third period. Winnipeg is 3-6-1 on the season.

About the Panthers: New coach Kevin Dineen has the Panthers playing inspired hockey and they’ve broken out to a 6-4-0 record. Kris Versteeg’s three-game point streak (2-2-4) ended Saturday in a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Versteeg leads the Panthers with five goals and 11 points on the season. Jason Garrison recorded an assist and the game-winning goal Saturday and now leads all NHL defencemen with four goals.
